Not only is it possible, but TurboCNC 3.1 provides G33 as a code to perform
the operation. You mount an "index" sensor on your headstock spindle so the
function can calculate both the RPM and also sync the headstock and
tailstock positions.
Since my only CNC tool is a Sherline mill, I've not been able to verify how
well it works.
