Hi Jason,

To move the motors, one need a motor controller program, which
interprets the NC program (G-code) Unfortunately, there are many
dialects of G-code (just like there are Queen's english, Bill Gate's
English, Singlish, etc. etc.)

A CAM program can take a drawing usually in dxf format and convert it
into a NC program (G-code) for the motor controller (which only
understand certain dialects of G-code) A post processor will be
something like a go-between, making sure that the NC program (G-
code) suits the motor controller the machine uses)
