Those same industries are managed by people who will gladly shell out $15K on the false hope that Mastercam (Surfcam,
etc.) will permit them to hire minimally skilled machinists to do the work of highly paid master craftsmen. A CAM rep once
confided in me that many of the licenses he sells are never even loaded into a computer. I know of four unused
packages in my area alone.

I see intricate 2.5D parts come out of a shop that uses Surfcam every day, made by people who don't fully comprehend a
blueprint. The parts never match the prints but managers are impressed anyway. The mechanics that install these parts
have learned to accept mediocrity as a condition of employment.

The point is that high end CAM software will make scrap just as well as Bobcad, Dolphin or Vector if you give it to the right
(wrong) people. I am convinced that the biggest difference in these packages, for the bulk of industry, is marketing.
