I bought a 12" square of fule pump diaphragm material from MSC
that was as you describe. I use it for that precise purpose.
I also bought a complete knee mill way cover set from Enco some
years back. One piece is similar to this description, and hangs like an
apron from the column, and hooks to the saddle. The other part
is 2 pieces of accordion-pleated rubbery material with no impregnated
cloth material, and is used over the Y ways. It seems to be quite
durable, too.
