Kelly! I was just havin' fun! Don't take it serious! Yeah, I can
understand, I have known M.E.'s with PhD's that can't remember how to change
batteries in a flashlight! By same token, MOST E.E.'s haven't a clue about
simple stuff such as the diff. between "V-threads", ACME, and ball-screw
threads, "four-start", etc.

I read with great interest the various "opinions" as to what would "do" for
Gecko inputs. It is truly amazing how much influence "old wives' tales" and
mythological electrical theory can have on such as our hobby here!

Like one member replied, take the 5 VDC from the "serial port" of the PC.
The load for the Gecko inputs would be negligible. It IS strange that the
PC's printer port has "all eight" grounds available, but not ONE pin for 5
VDC! Surely East-European Engineering?

My main concern for "doing it right" inputting to a Gecko is their PRICE!
WOW! NOT items that inspire ME to "try cheap stuff" connected to them!
