What speed of CPU are you using? When the counters stop counting, do
you see a following error box pop up on the screen? Does it go into
estop-off mode from machine on? (See below)

P=7 is WAY too low, I think. I run around 400 on my system. I'd suggest
you change P to 100 and see how it performs. I set FF1 to about 5, but
I'd get rid of the following errors first, before touching FF1.

Yes, but this allows the machine to be more than ONE WHOLE INCH
out of position, which may not be what you want. You need to get the
servo system performing much better than this before cutting metal!
You should have it so that following error when not moving is around
.0001", and when moving is somewhat less than .050" at the worst.
High-powered commercial machines keep following error down under
.001" at the highest feed rates, and only exceed this at rapid traverse
rate. Some of our home machines don't have the power to quite reach
that performance, but you need a LOT tighter control than +/- 1 inch!
