earth can software determine which one is the good one. Anyway, on most PCs, this
problem is VERY sporadic, about 1 - 2 events per second when reading the position
1000 times a second. EMC can supress this error rate without much effect on the performance
of the servo system. But, if long strings of position reports are bad, it means the servo
system goes open-loop until the encoder counts come back within normal range. This will
cause massive instability in the system.
