Vcarvz requires closed shapes. This means that if you follow a
contour around, it must eventualy arrive at the start point with no
gaps. Overlapping contours and shared lines between adjacent areas
are not allowed. If you follow these 3 rules with all the contours
within your DXF file, it should work fine in Vcarvz. Vcarvz has a
limited "healing" function under Edit-Correct Bad DXF Geometry. In
some cases it will also automatically adjust itself, even though some
problem areas are flagged.

There is a Vcarvz user forum and it is available as a topic on the
VectorCam forum. You may get much more specific help there than the
