I have a 9 x 31" Bridgeport, one of their earlier models, with the round ram.
I did a CNC retrofit on it, with servo motors and ballscrews. I can't answer
stepper motor questions accurately, but we need more info. What type of materials,
and what size end mills, etc. will you plan to use? What HP is the spindle, and
what is the spindle RPM range? What max feed rate do you want? If you want
higher speeds, like over 750 mm/min, you really should consider servos.

You already have the scales for the DRO, too. What resolution are they?
