I agree with you a BP is a better machine. I had purchase other HF mill
drill and I took it back it was way to sloppy.
This is a good unit I even have the signature of the general manager Lu
Sheng Huarng and the QC Chief Tan Gin Pu certifying my machine. That and 50c
will buy me a coke.
Really you have to look at each machine and judge for yourself is this what
I want will I be able to convert it to CNC. I went to the store and when I
looked at what I needed this had it, 13-14" clearance from table to end mill
19" travel X, 7" Y and a little over 5" Z. You can also tilt the head over
to 90 and make it into a crude lathe.

I ALMOST bought that same Mill, its a very nice smaller unit, but I
am glad I got the BP instead, the difference in how solid the two
machines are is substantial, however for the price the HF Mill
represents a very good value for $$$ spent. It's hard to say that a
new mill is better when the old BP iron can be had pretty cheap. I
must say that I struggled for quite a while deciding which mill I
wanted for a CNC conversion.
Which ever way you decide to go, you might as well go ahead and do
it, the sooner you start throwing chips the happier you will be. I
sat on my butt thinking about what I wanted far longer than I should
have. So look around and see if there are any good used mills first,
if not, then have at the new one and convert it to what you want.
