Re: Home/Limit switches : Micro switches or optical interrupters?

Has anyone used magnetic reed switches? They are sealed and you
would have no mechanical contact with the switch - just mount a
magnet on the table. Not sure about the repeatability for use as a
home switch, but should make a good limit switch. They are not
overly sensitive to stray magnetic fields (such as a magnetized tool)-
the magnet nees to be very close to close the switch.
