Erik,

I use proximity sensors. I like the way that they mount. CNC router
manufactures like Multicam use proximity sensors.

Proximity sensors require a 10 to 30 volt power supply. Plus you will need
to convert the output signal back to 5 volts.

The break-out board that Jim Cullins makes for me has the proper voltages
along with the 5 volts for the Gecko drives.

If you are interested, I can send you a couple of pictures.
