Hi, for the money micro switches are relatively sealed from dust, and fair
repeaters. Optical and Hall sensors have several problems one they collect
dust and swarf,,,many inexpensive ones have hysteresis.. and or sensitive to
ambient light conditions. In a printing company i worked for we ended up
using good ole microswitch on a cam but we did use hall sensors to tell us
the camswitch was comming. Alittle piece of junk between the vane and a hall
switch and its smashed.. Despite the claims of the maker microswitches last,
last and last far beyond the count/failure ratings given by the mfg. cul
