Brushless servo motor + gecko drive

I'm a total newbie when it comes to CNC. I've been thinking about
getting sherline mill and making it CNC (I have a sherline lathe)...
I've been lurking here awhile, looking at websites, but I'm still not
very clear about this stuff. Anyway...
Would the API MBT-N232 brushless servo motor work well? :
http://www.apicontrols.com/newapi/products/turbo_mbt23.html
It has 9.8 lb-in of stall torque, and it's #23 size.
Would it be good with the gecko G230 drive?
Or should I just get a stepper motor system?
Thanks in advance.
