I think I would invest in a spray can of Electronic Parts Cleaner OR
Contact Cleaner. We used to call it "Tuner Spray" back when TV
tuners were mostly mechanical; probably contained Carbon
Tetrachloride (non longer used). You can start out easy and if
nothing melts then flood it with the liquid so it carries off the
contaminates. It evaporates at room temp and leaves no residue from
itself. You can pick up a can at most electonic stores or supply
houses for TV parts. All of the major electronics distributors carry
extensive lines of cleaners for delicate electronic components.
