Jon, I worked for GE for over 12 years, I'm not a betting man, but if I was
considering a wager about this, I would consider that GE has the Best
Lawyers and Accountants in the world (even better than Clinton), usually
generates over 15% net and makes a LOT of money from joint ventures and
licensing (I think they stopped making TV's in about 1970, but you can still
buy them, GE & RCA at K-mart). One of their VERY successful operations is
GE-Fanuc. No way that I would cross them, pockets are way too deep. In
fact, I wish they would copy some of my stuff ;-)

Actual date on the manuals is 1975. The machine was a Brown & Sharpe
Hydrocut. Those manuals (the B&S) are a work of art on glossy paper. Even
though they are no longer in the CNC business, I'd be very cautious about
copying those manuals too.

In Allen-Bradley's case, you might be able to get permission to use their
material if properly credited. If they are even still in the business, they
are the sick boy of the various players, and need all the publicity they can
get.
