Is EMC used for lathes?

I can't seem to find any instances of someone using EMC to drive a lathe.
Looking at the G words EMC uses, I can't find any reference to crucial
lathe specific functions such as threading or constant surface speed. Has
EMC ever been adapted to lathes?
