Marv,
I've shot some DV of my Stewart Platform cutting (if I can find the
tape). I started down a project of trying to add streaming video support
to my web site, but didn't follow it all the way through. I could get the
RealServer stuff for Linux, but couldn't get the freeware RealProducer to
handle the format my video camera produced.
There are some *short* videos of the Hexel machine on their web site. It
is a moving-work machine, rather than moving-tool.
There are many issues and considerations that go into a Stewart Platform
machine -- which is what makes the project particularly interesting. I'm
very weak on machining -- this was a project to get into it. I was limited
to what I could do with a drill press, table saw, and torch.
Now, I have a MIG welder, chop saw, and the Stewart Platform itself, so I'm
rebuilding it to be stronger and faster.
I don't drive it through EMC. When I read about EMC for Stewart Platforms,
it seemed to only support three axis (x, y, z) coordinates, and not roll,
pitch, and yaw. I wanted to have full control.
I'd be happy to discuss any of the SP related issues on this list,
off-list, or my telephone.
Last night, I put of some shots of my new motor mount and leg assembly.
