I could probably live without CSS but threading is a must. I have two
Hardinge CHNC lathes setup with steppers and AHHA software/hardware. They
work great, however I lost considerable rapid velocity by changing to
steppers. I can only achieve 120 in/min in Z and half that in X. Lathes
eat lots of time with non-cutting moves during turret and tool changes. I
would like to move back to the servo motors to get faster rapids. I figure
can keep the AHHA software/stepcard and use Gecko 340s to drive the servos
or I could move onto something different. I'm just exploring some ideas...
