There is a problem with your idea of giving this project to some high-school
student machine-shop class: Those boys, while some may have fine and
admirable intentions, simply haven't the experience, and despite what their
instructor may SAY about their careful teaching of the meaning of
"tolerances" and "surface-finish", they simply haven't a GRASP, yet, of what
that entails!

Further, "It isn't [THEIR] property", so if one [deleted]s-up, it is no skin
off HIS nose. To make the point short: It will very likely cost you MORE to
have "kids" do the job that it will if you have a PROFESSIONAL machinist with
a reputation for fine work do it RIGHT the first (and ONLY!) time!
