Some more questions

First off, I wanted to thank everyone for their help regarding the motor &
leadscrew coupler. It was very much appreciated. I built an adapter to
convert the 8M leader screw to a 1/4" shaft, then used a flexible disc
coupler to connect it to the stepper motor.
Now, a few more questions:
1. I have several API CMD-260 stepper motor drives that I want to use with
the frog. Output signals on the frog are Step, Direction, and Ground.
However, the API CMD-260 needs common +5 volts, and unlike the Gecko units,
won't let you configured it as either common ground or common 5 volts. I
think this is going to be a problem, no? Any simple solutions (other than
buying another drive)?
2. If I can get past hurdle #1, the API CMD-260 also needs +5 volts at about
100 milliamps for the logic circuitry, but my power supply is only 24 volts.
What is an easy way of producing the +5 volts? A 7812 followed by a 7805?
3. If I want to put all of this in an enclosure, is there any sort of
standard for the stepper motor connection connector? Hopefully something
round that is easy to drill and mount in the back of the enclosure. The Frog
connection is going to be an RS-232, in case I go full blown CNC in the
future.
Thank you very much!
