Yes, they are direct drive. I am using Flexible shaft couplings
between the motor and the leadscrew.

To see some different kinds of couplings go to:
http://www.mcmaster.com
and enter 'page 1007' in the 'FIND' box
you can also look at some on 'page 1006'

My machining is light duty, so direct drive works well for my
applications.
