All the VFD's I have (3 of them) give rating direct from the
manufacturer for running them on 1 phase input. On the 2 later units
they are rated for driving a 50% smaller motor (I.E. rated 10 hp 3 phase
and 5 hp 1 phase) when driven from 1 phase power. The 3 hp unit I have
is rated for a full 3 hp with either 3 phase or 1 phase input. You don't
need to mess with anything on the unit. Just use one that is
appropriately rated on your 1 phase input.
