Brown's Gas is just a propritary name for water dissociated into oxygen and
hydrogen, which you then burn in an oxy-hydrogen torch. This Brown guy
apparently thinks he invented it, but it torches like that are pretty
common in jewelry making circles. Mine uses disposable syringe needles for
torch tips, and will burn holes in decently thick sheet brass. I used it
when silver-brazing shims onto my Sherline CNC milling machine's z-axis nut
(and lathe's carriage nut) to centralize its bore on the leadscrew in
preparation for the Moglice treatment (whew, brought it on topic just in
time...) because the heat, while intense, can be very localized.
