Hi all,

I've tried the transistor outputs rather than the opto outputs and as
others have stated - the levels are much better when driving the 2531
opto inside the Gecko - with transistors. As Steve, Mariss, Ron at
Flashcut and others have stated, optos driving optos is not reliable due
to the slow edge rise time. In my case however, installing transistors
did not solve my lost step pulse problem. I tried inverting the step
pulses and experimented with many different step pulse widths etc. all
to no avail.

I've ordered some 74HCT74 flip flops recently suggested by Jon and
intend to try Jon's suggestion to hold the direction signal longer to
bring the timing more into line with what the Geckos like. I'll let
everyone know what happens...

Cheers, Peter
