My newly installed Ball Screws have a disturbing
ball crackle.
This being my first experience with Ball Screws,
I'm not sure just how normal this is?
Somewere I've gotten the drift that a certain
amount of crackle is ok.
I'm using Rockford 5/8" with Preloaded Ball Nuts.
When hand cranking:
Alignment is good and no noticeable binding and
travel is smooth and easy. Except I can lightly
feel the Ball Crackle.
I adjusted the Preloaded Ball Nuts by turning the
adjustment screw until the Wave Spring Washers were
flat, and then backed off just a little.
I made sure everything was spotless clean and applied
just a small amount of grease to the threads.
They crack useally only when I reverse direction for
a few turns.
