are surface mount on little motherboards that are stuffed into tiny
boxes. WalMart.com had a small 800 MHz desktop for $199 before the new
year. This included 128 meg, cdrom, kbd, mouse, speakers, and Lycoris
Linux. It used almost the same motherboard that Roland and I used for
the HSM article. One difference was that it had a floppy port and one
hard drive port. Wish I'd bought ten!
Distributors are having a bitch of a time keeping these things in stock
because with the rather lean Linux distros and open office, they fly for
desktops and surfers. Not even bad for dual boot with MS-95.
