Cheap is good, it leaves more funds for materials and tools. I personally
have a problem putting a faster computer in the shop than I use for CAD and
other applications. My shop computer is a 266MHz Pentium and my house
computer is a dual 450 MHz Pentium. I am writing this from my "daily
driver" a 166MHz sub notebook that I use at work 5 days a week.
