Given a 24 volt transformer, you can expect around 36 Volts DC out of the
bridge rectifier. I'd use a minimum 50 VDC working voltage capacitor for the
power supply. So, while it will work, the 100 VDC capacitor is a little
overkill. However, if you're dealing with surplus electronics houses, you
take what they have as long as it meets the minimum needs.
