"Brute"? Has anyone built this machine?

Hi There.

Reserving any comments about John Kleinbauer's attitude, and the
commentary on his site...

Has anyone had experience with the construction and operation of
his "Brute" mill design? How does it stand up to other DIY projects?
What are modifications that users have made to make it better?

Thanks for your opinions, as I have ordered plans for the "Brute".
This is my first CNC experiment, and would like some information
before I begin construction.
