Re: [CAD_CAM_EDM_DRO] home brew ball screw bearing ?

I have uploaded the file endbearing.dxf
to the files section of this group for those that are
interested.

It's not a very detailed drawing but it will show how
such units are constructed.

These use "universal flush ground" angular contact
bearing pairs. Despite the name the inner races are
ground very slightly recessed compared to the outer.
When they are torqued down the inner races deflect
enough to come in contact giving the specified
preload value over a wide range of bearing nut
torques.

The drawing shows the bearings back-to back
(DB) which results in a simple end fixity. With inner
and outer spacers between them one can get a
fixed condition. The spacers must be very accurately made- it is usually
suggested that they be ground together at the same time on the surface
grinder.
