rapidly reversing the table on a mill can lead the mill to start rocking
and fall over if done just right.

the highest speed possible without causing a fault or an osillation. If
the gain and dampening is too low you fault out all the time when the
feed reverses. If the gain is too high you get buzzing and osillation
when it reverses and buzzing at rest.
