Your calculations are correct for the data you have given. A few
things to check:
Are the motor drives full step? If they are half step or micro
step you will need to divide that into the steps/inch.
Are the motors missing steps? If the ramp rate is to high or
the motors are not big enough for the load steps will be missed. Try
disconnecting the screw and marking the motor shaft with a marker.
Set the ramp and max speed very slow. Jog the axis and verify that
the motor turns as expected.
Widen the pulse width. Most drives are fine with the minimum
that the pc can put out, but some have issues.

setup right for the machine. I'm using 1/4-20 all-thread for the
leadscrews and have astrosyn NEMA 23 motors that I think are 1.8
degrees per step. I setup the axis for 200 revolutions per step and
20 as the tpi which gave me an increment of .00025 inches/step. When
I jog the machine say 1.0 unit I was thinking it would go 1" but it
doesn't. It is more like .25" Am I calculating wrong or are the jog
units not in in inches? I've set the units to inches in turbo cnc.
