Simply charge MONEY for what they do! Look up the word "professional" in a
dictionary.

MANY "hobbiests" can and DO finer and more-reliable-functioning work than
some "professionals". If you KNOW what you are doing, and/or "who to GO to",
you can sometimes save $megabucks by selecting the right "hobbiest" to build
a machine or make job-shop parts.

Another aspect: Surely MOST CNC machinery is made by "professionals",
indeed, BIG firms such as BP, etc. Now generally THOSE will employ only
skilled "professional" machinists and/or engineers, and anyway "cover" what
they do via warranty, reputation, etc. Whereas, if you buy some all-new, or
"CNC-converted" rig from a "hobbiest", you kinda are "stuck with whatcha
get". So, VERY careful "shopping" is very necessary.

Jan Rowland, an old "hobbyist" who has BEEN there, DONE that, and developed
an ATTITUDE along the way!
