There is a difference in capacitors rated for run versus start only. The
run rated caps are what you want for EDM
as the start only rated caps might not withstand the repeated charge /
discharge cycles.

If the caps are rated start / run, then they should be ok.

You wouldn't want to use a start rated cap in a motor run application. I've
seen that result in exploded caps and smoked motors.
