Chris, my Bridgeport BOSS 6 has 1100 oz-in NEMA 42 steppers made by
Superior and uses 5 TPI ball screws. They run at 56-80V and 9A. The
rapid speed is 120in/min. I don't think you can run steppers large
enough for a Bridgeport on a Gecko unless you are going to be
satisfied with really low speeds.

I'm not all that happy with the steppers on my Bridgeport. I think
anything less would be unbearable. I have some large servo motors
that I will retrofit with EMC at some point.
