I wouldn't recommend that! For 5 amps, if "continuous", I would even suggest
you go for #16!

What you need is properly STRANDED flexible conductor. Ever hear/see
"Gortex" (A-A Mfg., as I recall?) cable-ways? I used those in a BIG X-Y
table I built in '86, and used a DOZEN #14 THWN "electrician wires" in that,
and all is just fine (not only for a big stepper, but a couple of 4th and 5th
axis "120 VAC motors"

But if ALL you need is 4-C flexible, there are some WONDERFULLY-tough 4-C #16
and #18 "portable electric tool" PVC-jacket cables by the usual cable-mfgrs.
such as Belden---for 3-phase-plus-green-ground---which will do ya! Shop at
an electrical-supply house!

Else, "make it up" with 19-strand #16 or #18, if you can find it. SOMEone
reading this may know where to get such. I am fortunate in having a GOOD
"surplus house" nearby that "has EVERYTHING".
