No, I haven't been able to find a surplus source for shielded industrial
wire. For a project at work, I did buy some top-drawer Igus shielded
4-conductor cable just out of curiosity, and it is *much* stiffer than the
equivalent non-shielded Infinity cable (but similarly rated for millions of
flex cycles.) But several EE's at work have told me that, as long as the
signal and power sections are well and separately grounded, there is no
need for shielding. (We use a lot of steppers at work, mostly size 17 and
down, but a new project I'm working on is using 23's.) That has been
proven out so far at home. I have yet to put the AC power lead for my
Sherline spindle motor in the same cable tray as the Z axis on my gantry,
though...
