Hardinge HNC resolver - encoder signal conversion

on 2003-05-17 12:10:47 UTC
Hello, All.
I have been wanting to upgrade my Hardinge HNC chucker for some time
now. The problem I have run in to is the resolvers. No one seem to
have a kit for to accept feedback from them and centroids kit is
$17K. Far more than is feasible for me. I spoke with a gentelman
yesterday and he said that you could buy a converter that would
convert the resolver signal to quadrature encoder signal. Then I
could run a servo driver as the lathe has servo motors.
Has any one ever tried this? Any input is welcome.
Thanks in advance,
John
