Well, yes and no ;) . I've designed a part that is a copy of the "nose end" of
the resolver (where the little spur gear mounts) that will mount in the same
place as the resolver. The rear end of the part has features that will mount
an H5 series kit encoder from US Digital (about $60 each). The fellow who
owns the lathe is busy making these parts (3 of 'em, X, Z, and spindle) right
now, and I'll try 'em out as soon as he's finished.
