I pretty much agree with Chris. I found the information contained
in the for sale message interesting. Not just the technical specs
but also the pricing. But since I don't have a need right
now for large stepper motors and am not a potential buyer, I wouldn't
have bothered the seller to find out more about the motors if he
had only mentioned that he had some to sell. One of the reasons
Dan's short messages work for me is that I know that I can go
to his web page to find out more info. I don't know if the person
selling the large steppers has a web page or not.

I guess that my dividing line between what's ok and not ok re.
advertising is if the sellers are just using the list as an
advertising tool. That's not ok by me. But if someone is cleaning
out their garage or has come across a bunch of stuff which may be
interesting to the people on the list then I for one would like to
know what's available.
