Hi

My first 'proposed' cnc will use some BiPolar PM55L048 steppers I
salvaged from some HP Deskjet printer, these are 12v 800mA, they step at 7.5
degrees, my first attempt is only to be a small cnc for drilling pcbs, The
stepper driver circuit I am quite OK with I have already built a serial
controlled PIC based driver using a ULN2803 driver, this uses half step to
give me 3.75 degrees per step.
I am just not sure what the output is from the parallel port, on my
serial version I have a VB prog that sends direction, no of steps and the
delay between steps, I suppose I could change this to read a GCode file, but
I really wanted to use KCam to drive the machine.

Any advice much appreciated.

Brad

Are the steppers unipolar or bipolar? What are the steppers ratings
(Voltage, Amperage) as the driver need to be sized for it.
