Shelby: What kind of CURRENT do these solenoids draw? Less than 500 mA?

The most economical, and VERY good solution, if you "do electronics", is the
ULN-2003 Seven-Darlington DIP. That has SEVEN separate NPN Darlingtons AND
"spark suppression" diodes, and the input is "TTL level". It is also available
as the ULN-2004, for "CMOS inputs" (higher input voltage for proper
saturation).

I have operated several machines in which I use Clippard EVO-n
solenoid-valves (which are available in several voltage-configurations, but all the same
size), and I "switch" those soldenoids with the ULN-2003's. They are 100%
reliable and cheap (what, a $buck each?). Made by several firms; originally
Sprague, and now TI, among others. I have NEVER had a failure in many machine-years!
