The encoder outputs 2 squarewaves, when the speed is too high there
will be no flanks only a high signal.

Yes, thats why I am a bit confused... I just checked my notes and
it was even less than 1k rmp. Actually got overspeed error at 955 rpm!
It seem to work reliable at around 375 rmp tho. (didnt test much inbetween)
I calulated mine to 2.5kHz
(375rpm x 100 pulses/rev *4 (for quad) = 2.5kHz)

It says 'Point s.r.l' on them and the logo is a circle filled with bent
lines (arcs)

thats about it, except for colorcode for the outputs.

Opto-couplers to isolate and handle the levelshift down to 5v
for the PIC MCU. Had pullup to 24v or 12v (tried both)

Bad performance, way less than expected
Kinda thought it might be due to my opto, or too weak pullup or
something...
