IIRC, many commercial preloaded ballnuts use disk springs
(Belleville washers, wave washers, etc) between the nuts. They
are usually very stiff springs, which apply a substantial
percentage of the ballnut's capacity, and it is not too difficult
to select a preload force that will be higher than the expected
axial loads on the ballscrew.

Spring compliant nuts are a total NO NO. With the forces involved
with
a ball screw setup, they do NOT keep the ball nuts preloaded.
