I can't think of anyway to control an oxy cutting torch other than
the obvious mechanical. It's difficult to sense height with
electronics when there is a 10,000 deg flame a few inches away and
molten metal is involved! The 6 inch stuff will be a challenge. The
abrasive water jet guys can do that in all kinds of material. There
is a waterjet group that I slide by once in a while.
