Wes,

Paul Jones CNConabudget.com site has a few driver designs in
his "freebie section. So does Hans Wedermeyers site. And John
Kleinbauer sells a board for a 4 axis inexpensive unipolar drive,
that uses a circuit like the "nasa" one on Pauls site.

Without more info about where you're trying to go, it's a bithard to
give pertinent advice... As others have posted, you can also find
microsteeping driver chips, or program your own, using your basic
stamp experience. There is even one small light duty machine marketed
by Millinst in the UK, which uses basic stamps for its drives...

A stepper driver can be as simple as 4 transistors and 4 resistors;
if you use TurboCNC (or Desknc) to drive it...

More homebrew driver examples are at Luberth Dijkmans excellent hobby
plotter site.

What is it you want to do?
