Shawn,
You might like to take a look at the new software developed by Jerry Berns
and myself - Originally called ICAM and sold to schools for training - We've
been working on a new version tentatively called ICAMLITE that will generate
G-Code directly from any version of AutoCAD from R12 through 2004 - No DXF
files needed - It generates the G-Code while still inside AutoCAD and
directly from the AutoCAD drawing - It also works with IntelliCAD (Which
sells for $150) but there are a few final "bugs" that we're ironing out of
the IntelliCAD version - Expect to have it ready in less than 3 weeks - Will
cost $100 with a money-back guarantee - This is not intended to be an
"industrial strength" CAM system but will handle 95% or more of the everyday
jobs in the typical machine shop, unless you are doing a lot of solid
modeling 3D work like machining mold cavities - If so, you should look at
some of the other systems out there -
If you or any of the other guys on the list are interested I will be sending
out software within 3 weeks or less - For those on the list I can probably
arrange a "try before you buy" deal (no crippled versions) - Contact me OFF
LIST in case "mother" feels that this is too far off topic - Put ICAMLITE in
the subject line so your message won't get deleted along with all of the
other spam I get every day -
