Hi,

I'm very happy to report that by adding a Speed controller to the router really help.. Here are the advantages: 1. Noise level can be control; Doggy is smiling now :) . 40-50% of the power is all you need (max 30,000 rpm). 2. Torque remains constant. 3. Cuts are cleaner, not burning like before.

I'm taking on adding a Digital Tachometer to my router and maybe create the next generation of router.....

Best Regard,

Ben

A trimmer router is OK if you are not going to cut very much.

I would recommend the Makita 2.25 hp router. It is quiet.

For almost all my routing, I use the 3.25 hp Porter Cable router.
