I might add one thing to this discussion. I used a trim router for years on a 4-axis mill for engraving rubber covered rollers. I believe it was a Ryobi. The top bearing was mounted in a fairly soft rubber sleeve which allowed too much compliance at the cutter. Using the old sleeve as a pattern we made a new one from harder urethane which solved the problem.
